MY JOURNEY THROUGH CANCER IN 2019: a selection of images of myself travelling through the journey that is Cancer. From the Radiation mask being fitted (it's to lock you in position for the Radiation Machine Passing over) to my hair loss at the back of my head returning. The Cancer was located in my left tonsil. Firstly, they removed the tonsils - painful! Then the feed tube was installed through the abdomen wall in to the stomach. You gradually lose the ability to swallow food as you go through the treatment as the radiation affects the swallowing muscles in your neck (all 26 of them!) you really need that to intake liquid food. Your sense of taste is also greatly affected. I could taste sweet things but savoury things had no taste whatsoever. Food that went through the tube you obviously couldn’t taste, but you do get the odd hint of taste when belching etc...
