The machine revolves around one's head. You can also see the feeding tube that goes through the abdomen wall in to my stomach. I am free of the signs of cancer but still feeling the longer term side effects - mainly lack of saliva. It means I can only eat food that is soft and sopping wet as having no saliva it doesn't keep the gullet moist so anything dry just won't go down. Photo by: Nigel Andrews.

ME ON BEACON WARD Sunday 12th May 2019: this is me not feeling too well on the nebuliser on Beacon Ward at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, Somerset. The problem I had was the nausea was never ending. So the Medical Staff at both The Musgrove Park and Yeovil Disrtict Hospitals had, was finding a solution to alleaviate it. The solution was to be attached to a syringe pump. A battery operated syringe with a cocktail of Anti-Sickness and Morphine. It was with you at all times - no exception. You had to sleep with it! It hung off your shoulder in a bag by strap. Which was re-fuelled daily by the District Nurses. Photo by: Nigel Andrews. CHEMOTHERAPY WARD BEACON CENTRE Monday 8th April 2019: the five empty bottles on my drip tree on the Chemotherapy Ward, the Beacon Centre, at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, Somerset. For me the worst part of Chemotherapy was always the fourth day after treatment. You reaaly do feel most ill. The only time you don't have the nausea is when you can eventually fall asleep. It's fitted when warm and wet and it cures on you for some minutes. It's function is to lock you in position while the Radiotherapy Machine revolves around one's head. Despite how it looks, I didn't find it uncomfortable. It really freaks out some people who suffer from agrophobia or have a nervous disposition. Photo by: Nigel Andrews. It's fitted when warm and wet and it cures on you for some minutes. It then shrinks slightly after it cools and fully cures. Which means when it's used for the first Radiotherapy session it can feel a tad tight! It's function is to lock you in position while the Radiotherapy Machine revolves around one's head.
